2026 LENTEN PROGRAM
FRIDAYS BEGINNING FEBRUARY 27TH
“Our Shared Table”
Day by day, as Jesus’ followers spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread from house to house and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved. Acts 2:46-47
Acts tells us the first Christians eagerly shared their tables. The gospels give us many stories too, of how Jesus shared meals with all kinds of people, from an uninvited guest (Luke 7:36ff) to tax collectors (Luke 5:27ff) to 5,000 hungry persons out in a field. Jesus teaches in his actions, as much as his words. The meals he shares are not only events, but a way for us know his compassion for humanity and his desire that as followers we generously extend our tables too. This Lent come learn about table fellowship both as an expression of Jesus’ mission and as a sign of our eschatological fellowship with God.
